  • When do you release your workshop schedule for the month?
We update our workshop schedule the month before – for example, February workshops will go live in January.
  • I was looking for one of your workshops but can't seem to find it on the schedule.
We rotate our available workshops each month so that all our courses can get some love! If you don't see it on the schedule, hang tight and it should be back soon. Check out our Instagram for the latest updates!
  • There's a topic I'm interested in but it's not available as a workshop – would you be open to teaching it?
We welcome suggestions and would love to hear what you're interested in! If it is something within our expertise, we'll be happy to turn it into a workshop, or to point you in the direction of other experts in the field who might already have the perfect course for you!
  • If we want to organize a private workshop, will that be possible?
Absolutely! We offer private workshops for birthdays, corporate events, and community activities, all centred around urban farming. A minimum of 5 participants is required to start a session. Drop us an email at hello@thefreestylefarmer.com or Whatsapp us at +65 8825 2705 to customise a workshop!
  • What is your cancellation policy?
If you cancel at least 3 days in advance, you may reschedule your workshop. However, cancellations made within 2 days of the workshop are non-refundable.
  • What sort of physical space is required in order to run an urban farming programme?
For an urban farm programme, a space with at least 4 hours of adequate sunlight is required. The area should be suitable for placing planters, with a minimum size of 1m x 0.5m, though larger spaces are ideal. We can conduct a site survey to assess its suitability.
  • Why don't you do indoor farming with grow lights?
We prefer outdoor farming as it promotes biodiversity and attracts pollinators, which are essential for a thriving ecosystem. Indoor farming with grow lights tends to limit biodiversity and natural ecological interactions.
  • What are your growing practices like?
We cultivate in soil without using harmful chemical fertilizers or pesticides, following both organic and regenerative farming principles. Our focus is on sustainable soil-based practices, and we typically do not use hydroponic systems.
  • Does my team need green thumbs or experience in growing?
No prior experience in gardening is required, and beginners are welcome!
  • Does my team need a minimum period of participation for the programme?
We highly encourage the same team members to participate throughout the programme to ensure continuity and a full learning experience. This allows them to gain deeper insights, develop skills progressively, and maximize the benefits of the programme.
  • If the plants die, who bears the costs of replacement?
If the plants do not thrive, we are happy to assess the situation. While we ensure that the plants provided are suited to the growing environment, various factors can affect their health. If the issue is due to a defect in the planter, we will cover the replacement cost. Otherwise, we kindly ask the customer to bear the cost of replacement.
  • Why are such workshops important for my staff?
These workshops are educational and teach staff about sustainability and improve their wellbeing. It can also help them bond better!
  • Do we have to visit your site, or are you able to come to our venue?
We offer both options! You’re welcome to visit our rooftop garden at Singapore EXPO by appointment, or we can bring our workshops to your venue, depending on the requirements. Let us know what you have in mind, and we’d be happy to discuss the best arrangement!
  • How much are your workshop and programmes?
Our workshop and program fees vary depending on the type of session, group size, and location. We'd be happy to share more details based on your specific needs. Feel free to let us know what you're looking for, and we can provide a tailored quote!
  • Is customisation of the workshops possible?

This may include adjustments to the content, duration, group size, or hands-on activities to better align with your objectives.
